I was at Island Lake this past Sunday and noticed some shotty looking ice. There were also some water showing in spots but I wasn't sure if it was water on top of the ice or if it was actual "open" water.

Now, the forecast on our upcoming snow has changed from 6+ inches to a dusting. It looks like we will miss the accumalations this time....

Woooohoooo!

Whooh!

What a day. It was hot out there Saturday. It must have 60+ degrees out there.

The fishing wasn't as fast as it was Friday but we had a good day over-all. Some reaching their limits, some close, some with a few and some with one. But we're not gonna mention names .

We had a pretty decent crowd amongst us (about 15 or so). Plus there was alot of the lesser skilled out there too .

I think I saw Butch Fertman leaving the ice. Actually if it was really him, he was fishing my holes from Friday!

The road is getting rougher and rougher out there, however, there were a few trucks that made it out. There must have been 100 wheelers out there!

Parp, myself and a few others hit Boulder tonight and fought our way throught the slush on the 4-wheelers. The entrance from the d a m access was pretty sketchy.

Between 5 of us we did pretty well with about 25 crappies. The ice was still a healthy 3 feet thick. ....Near the d a m, I'm not sure....But if you notice behind Parp (not to take attention away from the "Girth Brooks" he's holdin), there are a couple of trucks out there. You be the judge

Caribou, surprisingly, was slow for me and a few others I know as well. I was only out there about 3 times this year. But, It was pretty bad. Maybe I just hit on some bad days....?? It has usually, in years past been a gold mine.

I just talked to Dave and he told me to tell you Hi!

See ya,

That I did do! Ahhh the fond memories .

Doug,

It didn't come to mind right away fishing with you at Caribou until I looked at your profile and immediaetly recognized your last name.

I did put the icehouse through a workhout on local lakes, but the season had a late start so I missed out on a few. Now I'm gettin pumped for soft water.
