Great video Jason.

I thoroughly enjoy your tactical approach to putting fish in the boat. I wish hunting season didn't get in the way of the awesome fall fishing opportunities. But I can't let those ducks just fly around unsupervised.

Have a very crappie day!

Looks like a fun morning.

The Gulp! 2 1/2 inch minnow in Smelt color has been my go-to for 3 years now...water clarity hasn't made a difference. It just catches fish.

I've fished it a couple times through the ice. Found gajillions of stunted crappies 3-6 inches long.

Looks like it has potential but I just haven't found the size yet.

X3 on Timjo! I've seen a LOT of replicas and none compare to his.

The weather was brutal, touching -18 and winds 40+ mph on Saturday. We anticipated some major bite changes as the front approached and settled in, but the walleyes gave us consistent action the entire weekend. Slow yes, but consistent. We caught fish from 7:30am through 1:00a.m. Only one rattle wheel woke us up overnight.

Our group of 6 guys caught a total of 47 walleyes. We brought 24 home, ate 16, and let 7 go free. Also kept 10 decent perch and released a wiley pike.

Steve took good care of us. Our group had two of the 3-man houses and he put them close enough together that we were covering water but could easily walk over to share reports and provisions. We were set up shallow, only about 3/4 mile offshore in 8 FOW with scattered rocks on the bottom. We caught most fish in the houses, but also had good success in portables on Saturday going VERY shallow. On a tip from Steve, we set up in 4.5 feet of water (from bottom of ice) and we were pulling up beautiful walleyes!

Steve also let us fish in three of his houses that had cancellations for the weekend. We pulled up fish in every house!

Tackle didn't seem to matter much. We caught fish on plain red hooks, glow hooks, Lindy Rattlin Flyers, Frostee's, and several other spoon variations with similar results. The biggest key to getting bites was to jig extremely slow. We spooked a lot of good marks by jigging too aggresively. Fathead heads caught the most fish, followed by small live fatheads - tailhooked. Shiners did not produce many bites - silvers or goldens.

FYI, there are millions of emerald shiners swimming along the bottom. One of our guys caught several with a marmooska jig and a euro. The emeralds definitely caught fish faster than any other minnow.

Definitely a fun trip and recommend Bear Paw to anyone looking to catch fish!

Keg party on the ice?

Brilliant!!!

We'll have to exchange reports during the weekend...

My crew has two 8x16 houses from Bear Paw - three trucks.

I'll be up there this weekend too with 5 buddies, renting through Bear Paw. Plan on bundling up and running portables all day.

Seek and destroy walleye time!

Cannot wait!

I have checked depth through ice with my LX-5, but don't feel confident that I can rely on it to mark fish without an open hole.
