both sides not working? down imaging working at all?

make sure under the sonar tab the "connected transducer" is your side imaging one, either HD side imaging or compact side imaging-this depends on your unit, i beleive the helix 9 10, 12's come with the HD transducer, the 7 and 5's come with the compact one

last resort, make sure you have the most current up to date software

hmm, I was really thinking yamaha, so its either a $1000 thailand honda with service centers everywhere or $500 china generator where I would have to drive 60+ miles to have something serviced if need be, let alone hoping that it starts in negative temps

if you get a mega unit, you'll get the best transducer with it; and yes the images are clear

FYI i did find a place that is selling the 2,000 watt yamaha for $856; just add to cart, comes with oil, fuel stabilizer, and a 1 year extended warranty https://www.yamahagenerators.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=EF2000iSv2

i've seen side by side reviews of the off brands that are just as efficient, quiet, and weight; but as far as service goes, I would be SOL on the westinghouses, closest center is 60 miles away
thanks for tips!

going to need to purchase a inverter style generator sometime this summer-late summer for our ice house. I've been doing some research on them, of course *last generations-Japanese made- Honda's and Yamahas get alot of attention, but does a guy really need to spend that much to run lights and a furnace/fan and maybe an occasional TV? Seems like there are quite a few for half the price of a honda with excellent reviews.
I was particularly looking at the Westinghouse WH2200iXLT, just not much for reviews regarding how many hours people have put on them. I was leaning towards a Yamaha since a guy could find one for a couple hundred more, but it turns out they're made in China now too, same goes with the new Honda's now too?
