When the weather allows you to get out, fishing has been great! Just not much fun fishing in rain and 30mph wind!

The bite continues to stay strong on several Bemidji area lakes. I've had my success rigging crawlers along weedlines and midlake structure. I know that guys are catching fish with crank baits over shallow weeds, with some using bouncers/spinners on deep weed and break lines. Talked to a few guys getting fish on jig raps and pulling lead core as well.

One reason I really enjoy rigging crawlers is the variety of fish I end up catching. Somedays it requires several dozen worms though! Here's a couple pics from a succuessful evening run earlier this week.

The Bemidji area lakes for the most part are HOT! Fish have been snapping up crawlers for me on mid-lake structure, along breaks, and weed edges.

I had some unbelievable trips around the July full moon. In fact it was some of the best fishing I have experienced for this time of year.

The Excel CWB system has been slick for keeping the fish on ice for my drives home. Even allowed time Wednesday for clients to take me out for supper before heading home to clean their catch!

I have yet to see any sort of algae blooms, but I think that is about to change. With water temps in the low to mid 70s and the forcasted heat and humidity a lot of lakes are going to green up over the next few days. That being said, this weekend should continue to produce excellent fishing.

The fishing is so good, I even had a bass guy excited about walleyes! Here's a limit and a few nice fish!

Any reports, tips, or tactics would be appreciated for either Kabatogama or Namakan. I have a wedding in the area on the 26th and am planning on hauling up the boat. My plan, if I don't get a hot tip , is to hit the reefs with bottom bouncers, spinners, and crawlers.
