It's actually not a bad contract, look what Bradford is getting for 1 year-20 million with 15 guranteed with a bad knee. Brees got a 2 year 50 million deal with 27 guranteed and he is 39 years old. Highbeeze, rodgers has won games with not much defense, but he always seemed to have some playmakers on offense. I agree Rodgers is good but the dude has won only 1 Superbowl. I'm sure he will get around 30 mill/yr extension. Im not sure how long of an extension he will get since he will be 35 years old this year. Matt Ryan will get a hefty extension also. All this high priced QB stuff started a handful of years ago when the Ravens broke the bank for Joe Flacco... Lol, yes Joe Flacco.

Nofish, I absolutely agree with you there!!! Sounds like Keenum's deal is 2 year 36 million. Good luck to him.

areneb04, you hit it on the head with that post. I read a stats post on Cousins last night that said if the Redskins defense would have been middle road the last 3 years he would of averaged 13-3 records. Lets see what he can do with the Vikes.

From what I have heard, the Vikings knew they would sign Cousins a few weeks ago already. When every GM in the league was already saying it's a done deal with Cousins and all the "insiders" were saying the same thing. The Broncos didn't even offer Cousins a contract, they knew he wouldn't sign there. As far as the Jets offering him more money, yes they can. But what I heard last week is that the Vikes can offer him a little less but Cousins would still be making more here, per the state income tax agreement that MN has with Michigan as that is Cousins homestead. He would only have to pay the lesser of the 2 states which is Michigan at 4.3% or something, compared to Ny/Nj 9%.
Since 2015 he is the 4th best QB in the league statistically speaking... Numbers don't lie.
Completion %--3rd at 67%
Passing yards---4th at 13,176
Passing/Rushing tds--tied at 4th with 94
Game Winning drives---3rd with 11
Like Charlie Casserly said last night, the guy puts up yards, and to Who???
Can't blame his overall W/L record on him, when there hasn't been a team around him.
Pay this man his Money!!!

Why would anyone want to spend so much money on Cousins??? Lets see Derek Carr was highest paid at 5/125mill not to be outdone Stafford got 5/135mill as the highest paid now Garroppolo is at 5/137.5mill. All of which haven't proven anything yet but got paid. Kirk will get paid because he is a good QB hitting free agency at the right time. It's just the nature of the buisiness, not long ago it was the WR's that were getting crazy contracts. Cousins may not have proven anything yet? But I would say he has, if it wasn't for Kirk the Skins would likely of had 2-4 win seasons the last 3 years each. They have absolutley no team around him and he still is a top 7 qb. I say go get him, at least you know you will get 4,000 plus yards and 25 tds with minimal interceptions if needed. If you were to pay Keenum 5 mill less a year than Cousins, you would rather do that and not know what your going to get out of him? As far a losing players, yup it's going to happen, if we lose Barr I say oh well, I'd rather lock Kendricks up over Barr anyways. It sure would be nice to have a good solid consistant QB at the helm for the next 5 year as the Vikings haven't had anything like that since the days of Tarkenton.

I was up there this last weekend and it was snowing when we left Sunday, not sure how much snow they got but it was pretty windy out. From I saw just driving to our rental shack was most wheel houses were right off the road as the drifts and snow limited travel. Saw a few guys shoveling there way out as the drifts got pretty big. Good luck.
