I was up there this last weekend and it was snowing when we left Sunday, not sure how much snow they got but it was pretty windy out. From I saw just driving to our rental shack was most wheel houses were right off the road as the drifts and snow limited travel. Saw a few guys shoveling there way out as the drifts got pretty big. Good luck.

Well that was a rough trip. Got up there around noon on Friday, we caught the first fish around 5:30 or so nice 17 inch walter. Didn't catch another all weekend a couple misses. But we didn't mark anything on the flashers all weekend. We were setup in 13 fow about 5 miles out. Lots of houses out in the 2 mile area with a bunch out further than we were also. Might have to change our annual trip from Red to LOW starting next year.

Heading up to Red for our groups annual trip and staying with Bear Paw this time. Just wondering if anyone has been up to Red lately, haven't seen any reports recently. I haven't fished Red this late in the year, so I am curious on how the bite has been as of late? What has been working the best, deadstick or jigging? Any color out producing another? Hoping to catch a few while we are up there. Excited to try Bear Paw for the first time. Thanks.

As much as I like Keenum, I would go with Cousins. How could Spielman pass up on Cousins. If he is a free agent, seeing there is rumblings that the Redskins might franchise tag him again only to trade him. In the 3 years if Cousins being a starter he averages over 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns per year, with not much talent around him. I would live to see what he could do with the Vikes. Sure he is going to demand a record breaking contract, but it's time the Vikes make a big splash.

I'd say we had a heck of a season, didn't end the way I wanted it to, but I also didn't expect to be in the NFC championship game at the beginning of the season. 13-3 is a great season for any team!
As for the NFC championship game. I hate to say it but Zimmer got out coached and gameplanned very badly. I don't know why we didn't fly out there until Saturday but that didn't make any sense, they usually give themselves a few days during the regular season games. I don't understand why our defense played the exact same way as we did in the 2nd half of the Saints game. I mean there was no sticking of the wrs by our cbs on the line, we played 3-7 yards off there wrs all game from the start. We didn't bring any pressure on one of the top 5 o-lines besides 1 play where I seen Smith come in on a saftey blitz. Zimmer went away from the gameplan he used all season long on defense, the schemes that helped get the Vikes where they were this season. Offense looked like a million bucks on the opening drive. Elfline injury hurt as it put Berger in at center and Sirles at guard, meanwhile Hill got man handled all game long by everybody. We gave up on the run game way to early and mad us so undpredictable. So Keenum not having any time and the Eagles knowing we are going to pass on every down, yeah I don't care if Brady was back there, the QB wasn't going to be able to do squat. We lost due to turnovers and coaching/game planning.
As far as who we should have under center next year, shoot I'd say Keenum deserves 2-3 year contract for 12-15 million a season. He was a top 10 QB this year. I like the way he plays the game, sure he isn't flashy or has the size or arm, but so what, he won 12 games in the season and a playoff game for us. Not to mention we didn't have Cook for 3/4 of the season, and that guy is a game changer. I think the bigger question is instead of who will be our qb is who is going to be our offensive coordinator?? Who ever we get, and what kind of system they run will be a deciding factor as to who will be the qb going forward. If we don't keep Keenum I sure hope we don't keep Teddy. Otherwise make a play for Luck,Cousins or Brees. Brees is not guranteed to stay in N.O. The type of money at his age, maybe the Saints won't want to pay him that since they are a more run/defense based team now.
It will be an interesting offseason with 60 million in cap, and alot of talent in free agency this year. We should be in the mix next year again, although I know we have a tough schedule as we play the Saints,Rams,Patriots,Seahawks and Eagles. As a true Vikings fan says " there is always next year!" Skol!!!

Shauno- Did I imply driving 1/2 ton with wheelhouse is stupid on 15 inches of ice? Lol, no I think not. Driving 30 mph on the ice is very stupid, along with other things I saw from some not so smart people out on the ice. :)

Was out on Buffalo yesterday. Had 15" ice under me. Full size trucks pulling wheel houses out all over. Must of been 30 trucks out on the lake. I love watching stupid people on the lake, seen a few trucks driving over 30 mph. Fishing was good.

I am looking at buying a used tilt bed snowmobile trailer. They don't have registration for it and it does not have the lifetime sticker either. My question is how hard will it be to get the lifetime sticker from the DMV? I never owned a trailer yet so I don't know how it all works. Wondering if I shouldn't buy it because of this. Thanks.
