Great info guys thanks alot, I am leaning towards just going with a 2500 Duramax, but man they sure went up in price from a few years ago :(

I really like those numbers with the ecoboost but I agree seems like if one put some turbo stuff on the V8's they would be stronger as well. I also would have to tow my 8x16' icehouse with one to be sure it pulled well for my liking as my last one was a dog... Might get out to a dealer if this one 2500 truck I am trying to look at over the weekend falls through.

Thanks

I have a 2012 half ton F-150 with the 3.5 ecoboost. You will have no issues pulling a fish house with a half ton. If it were me I would go lighter on the truck so you can get on the lake sooner as you mentioned. Also a gas 3/4 doesn't do much but burn more fuel and cost you more in yearly tabs. 1 ton diesel (which you don't need) or half ton gas. Any of the ecoboost engines or V8's everyone offers is more than enough. Maybe just make sure to get a nice tow package.

What is your gpm when towing at highway speeds? 65-70mph? Just seems like a V6 would be underpowered, are they stronger than a v8 b/c of the ecoboost?

How are the gas 3/4 ton trucks comparable to the diesels? Are they just as strong? gpm difference?

Hello, I am in the market for a new tow vehicle for a new to me 8x16' ice house that I purchased. Question is what type of vehicle should I be looking at?

A little background, I previously had a 2002 Ford F150 5.4l before but it had a hard time pulling my last 8x16 house. Specifically starting out, going up hills was very hard without dropping 15-20 mph by the time I got to the top without feeling like I was going to kill the motor, and gas mileage was a dismissal 8 mpg.

I was thinking about going with a 3/4 ton diesel but not sure if the newer 1/2 tons will get the job done (150 eco boost, silverado, etc.) and be a lot better than what I was experiencing. BTW: the ice house will have the "V" front and is 4300#'s

Anything you could share on what you have, pros/cons would be greatly appreciated as I need to buy something very soon.

Thanks

I thought it was a bad decision when it occurred last year didn't understand why they would get rid of him, regardless if he was a bench QB he came out and proved himself now time to give him a contract. Well that is how I operate, if someone can do the job hire him and don't look back!

Oh for-sure, not saying anyone shouldn't share their opinion by any means. I was just voicing mine as well with the QB

Wish they would have went further myself as it bites to have once in every 5-10 years where they go farther, but it is what it is. Im sure its bad heart burn for Zimmer as well as IMO he made a bad decision... But enough said, time to go fishing!!

well keep in mind you cant use a propane hose / 20# tank with the little one. But sounds like you know what you need. Good luck

If you don't have a great offensive line it doesn't matter who the QB is. Cousins is a pocket passer and that means OL is a priority. Vikings should of known this. Keenum could at least break away and make some plays when the line got destroyed last year. They have to address this this spring. It isn't the best available player all the time when the need is so great. We have a great defense so let's build on the offense [line, running backs, tight ends] this spring. good luck.

Cousins couldn't even make simple 10 yard pass completions (some were way off wth), my son could play better than him, regardless of the line. But good for him to get 84 million. To put the topping on the cake--I really like the sleep number commercial where he sets his sleep number as states that is how he plays so well game after game:)
