Did you try putting one on Meters and the other on feet. That works for me. You can do that and then play with the noise rejection after you make that adjustment. Also in deeper water put cones on narrow beam.

Had this happen to my LX 5 years ago. Did not effect the transducer function, but stuck so bad in the Marcum holder I had to pry it out while trying to fish and I thought it was gonna break. I don't know why they do this?

Just purchased a Garmin striker SV with all the features you mentioned. Cheaper than lowrance or hummingbird. nice picture and options on it also, check them out.
