I would not trust to get straight answers from walleye central. Not that fishing forums aren't good places to find answers, but that the border restrictions change quite frequently.

I'd go to the Canada Border Services Agency website to get the real deal.

here's link

https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/menu-eng.html

I've traveled many times to Canada and referred to this website about different regulations. its up to date and if you have any questions you can call.

There's also some scattered WMA's in the area which you can see on the Beltrami State Forest map.

never fished it but have thought about it and know that they do stock those ponds with panfish as well as the ponds in the lakes. I'd give it shot you never know there might be some slabs in there considering club west has been there for 5+ years i'd say.

looks like there are pike in there too....wait...and walters.... good luck if you do try and report back! I might have to consider that again.. :)

What places would you suggest retro from previous experiences? which I know you have from all your past posts from the trips you've taken...actually it's kind of how i got the itch to look into it.

PM me if needed...like i said wouldn't be a trip until next year...maybe pair it with a jets vs wild game...

Thanks.

Sounds good guys thanks for the advice. I'm not one for lack of research... just thought i might be able to get a head start which looks like i have...much appreciated...won't be headed that way until next year at least so looks like i'll have plenty of time to figure it out.

hopefully there are a few monsters left for us :)

As a newbie that would love to make it to that lake someday. Where do you guys start? as far as landing and getting on the ice and general locations...south end or north? sleep on the ice? or a cheap hotel near by? It's a little over-whelming to look at that lake and take a stab.

I'm sure talking with some of the people up there would help once in town but just curious as to what all of you do when do make the trip?

I'm sure this thread has been started before if so just post the link and i'll take a gander.

Thanks.
