Well it wasn't the first time this year I've head someone say "New rules"..... well I haven't seen new rules in a number of years and it made me a little confused. I didn't think I saw anything new in the book. We also were very careful on length. We actually didn't catch many flirting on the line. A lot 14-18" and the 20"+ for the rest. Good numbers of 20-24" fish but could only squeak out 2 that went 26" but super fat over Easter weekend

The COs up there are smart enough to figure out what people are doing on the river.... if you are out in the middle of the river jigging they will probably stop over. If you are up in the bays casting then they won't bat an eye.....

How is access to sand point after the last snowfall? Don't gave sleds anymore just the side by side and truck... I'm guessing it drifted pretty bad but I'm getting the perch itch
Thanks

Yes it will be open if ot all the way to the lake or a long ways. For first time sturgeon lane out in 4 mile bay will be busy but better fishing for action. Find a deeper hole and move up to the front of it and make sure you are anchored up good cause there is a lot of boat traffic and large wakes that will let some boats loose. We had about 20 fish in the boat last year with the biggest going 65" average was around 45"

I would say the crow wing lakes are a much more well rounded set of lakes than little mantrap. Great crappies in the 10-14" range and nice bull bluegills with a few pushing or over 10".....bass fishing can be great on most of the crow wings and a few of them have excellent walleye fishing. Just as good or better than the potato lake chain and always a northern factory! With the new regs coming into play catching eater northerns will be a breeze with some slot and over fish too.... also gives you multiple lakes in one for some of them. 2nd-4th. 8th-10th are easily accessible by any boat. Some others require small boats or canoes. My favorites are 3rd. 8th and 11th
