Was up from Tuesday till Saturday...left at 7:00am.....Got out on the lake around noon Tuesday.....after deciding on a area to fish and drilling some holes we were not out of our trucks 10 min and my sons dog went after mine. She ripped his ear 2/3 the way up his ear....so i was off to Bemidji to see the vet. Long story short.....I did not get a line down till around 6PM that night. Between 4 of us we managed 4 fish that night......Stuck it out the following day and results just a little better...5 fish. Most of those fish were on a plan orange hook, 1 fish was caught jigging. I did miss 3-4 that day right at the hole....must of been shaking the rust off. Thursday we moved and went out of west wind's....we were at Rogers. But, out luck was not much better. I did text mndrifter a few times and he was doing pretty well and wanted to go his direction...but my partners had other ideas...uhgg...

Glad you did well Mndrifter....nice to get on a bite when you have the youngins with....they will hooked for life and you will have some great fishing partners. To bad we couldn't hook up and meet....maybe some other time out on a local lake.

All in all it was a fun trip for us....can't always rely on the fish to bite...but, there out there somewhere and won't find them on the couch. Good luck.

Interested as well.....also, has anyone drove up today? Going to drive up? Be interested to hear what the roads are like? My son is driving up from Fergus Falls today and I am heading up tomorrow morning from Big Lake.

Is there much snow on the lake/drifting? Heard ice is as much as 15" but there are spots 7-8". Anyone have and first hand info to the conditions? I know i can call (will ask them when i get there) the resort planning on going out of, but would like to hear from some folks that are currently on the lake or last day or two. Thanks. Have a good one.

From Rogers today......looking really positive for pulling your wheel house next week.

12/14/16 State of the lake report.
This weekend we will start letting out small trucks and SUVs like rangers, S10 and the like. Single axles are a go with tandems in the dirt for this weekend and is subject to change, we will post again tomorrow.
Currently we have 9 plus inches of ice in the snow and 10.5" on bare areas where most of the guys are fishing. We should have a good 11" to 13.5" by Saturday.
High hopes, foot traffic, wheelers, side by sides, houses by outfitters, single axle houses by wheeler or side by side remain active.
Light truck traffic is currently inactive. Probable for 12/17.
Truck traffic is questionable mid week next week and probable the following weekend.

I take my house through the car wash 90% of time after using it and spray them down, but they rusted up.

Where is a good place to buy a good winch that won't rust up in 3 years? Thanks.
