Any word on turnover for the area?

I do not know if a lake that shallow turns over.

I don't think that red would turn over, that's why I was thinking of fishing there. I think all the other lakes in the area are probably turning over right now so I thought that might be the best bet to catch some fish. I'm actually staying at a resort on Turtle Lake a few miles north of Bemidji and was thinking of making the run to Red Lake so the family can get on some fish.

I was contimplating a trip there this weekend, not sure if anythung is bitting still. Was thinking Red might be better since I'm guessing a lot of the deeper local lakes are turning over right now.

I'm picking up a downrigger in Woodbury on Saturday and I'm bringing the boat with. I've never fished that part of the river but I'll have at least one open seat if someone is interested in going with. Right now it's just me, likely one of my two kids, and maybe my nephew.

I was looking for a place who might have some rental fish houses available this coming weekend. I would need to sleeper houses for Saturday night as a last minute trip. We're fine catching anything, I just wanted to get my niece and nephew out ice fishing for their first time. My sister moved to Bemidji this summer so the closer to town the better. Was thinking of red Lake but that might be too far if the kids don't like it. Thanks for any help you can give me

I was driving over the bridge and I thought to myself "who's the crazy SOB on the river in a ski boat?"... guess I know now. That's a cool video, would be nice to use on some clear lakes when the fish are cruizing up shallow to see where they are before spooking them with the boat.

We stuck between 20-24, too much shallower and we were getting into some sparse weeds.

Went out last night with a buddy from work... got some nice eyes pulling lead, and a few small ones too. Didn't plan on keeping any so all fish put back. All in all it was a good night on the water.

I live in Fargo now; but I grew up down there and some of the shore spots I used to fish were -

1. Along the south shore of Beebe lake to the east of the beach
2. the access at Charlotte Lake
3. The Crow river behind the Rec. center was always good like someone already said (had a few beers and campfires in the day too!!)
4. The Crow river under the bridge on Cty. 19 in Hanover
5. The Crow river just to the west of Hanover on River Rd. where it goes into the backwater on the north side of the road
6. Crow river under the bridge right next to the Millside Tavern.
7. I haven't been there in years; but Schmidt lake just to the east of Beebe and fishing in the ditch. Heard the people won't let you park there anymore though.
8. Any of the access spots on the Mississippi between Clearwater and Anoka are almost always good.
9. Big Lake along the south shoreline along the rip rap could be good at times.
10. There's a tiny lake about a mile or so to the west of Mill Creek Inn on Cty. 35 west of Buffalo. I looked it up on Mapquest and I guess it's called Berthiaume. We used to fish the south side of the road and get a lot of bass and sunnies
11. This time of year I would start at the bridge on the south side of Buffalo lake, there should be some crappies starting to stage within casting distance of shore.
12. If you just want to catch fish, there's the access at Big and Little Maple lake. Never really caught anything big; but always caught something.

I'm sure I'll come up with some more... but these are the ones that I could think of off the top of my head.
