Dead stick with that Gem-N-Eye or jigging with minnow head?

That sounds terrible! I know I'd be pretty pissed off myself if any of those things happened to me/my group. I also would put a little blame on the yahoos that put beer cans down the hole! That one pisses me off more than anything.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience! I have used Appledoorn's for the past 4 years and the service is great. Our first trip this year was slow fishing, but it sounds like that is a common theme for the entire lake. Other years we've done well fishing and always had a great time.

Thanks for the input! We'll probably be targeting some pike with tip-ups and may mix in a little jigging. The bite has recently been terribly slow during the day so a little trip nearby sounded like a good idea.

Wondering if anyone has been out on Farm Island yet this year? We're going to be on Mille Lacs this weekend and thought about taking a day trip up there.

Mainly wondering if the ice is in the same shape as Mille Lacs? I suspect if it is, we'll just walk out and stay safe.

Any insight is much appreciated!

Call appledoorn's. From the report earlier they have good ice, however they're not letting a truck & wheel house out yet.

I just bought the Eskimo 767i Thermal. Only used it once, but like the functionality. One of my favorite features are the removable windows, Clam doesn't offer these.

You are bound to get frosted up windows, and at that point won't be able to see out of them.

The only downfall I've seen is the carrying bag is a little small.

I'd look at either the 949i or XL4000T, but def look at the thermal ones.

The best reports I've heard is that they are few, and far between.

Just saw that Chapman's will be letting smaller vehicles out this weekend, but must drive slow and follow roads. Also mentioned to keep distance from shacks and other vehicles.

Personally, I'm not driving out for a few weeks yet.
