Where is the racial slur in his post? I don't see it.

Check the link at the bottom of his post.

I donít like the netting and spearing either but I donít see the reason to go there.

So you have resorted to referencing racial slurs. Real classy fishnpole.

Kind of ironic considering you are trying to take back something that was granted to them.

Not having ANYTHING mess up our spawning cycle (including the electro fishing the idiots do) is going to make for another good hatch.
The thing I'm worried about now is they'll be eating their tails..........

It looks like the walleyes will be in full spawning mode when the regular MN season is open.

When do you plan to start fishing fishnpole? Do you have a certain temp you wait for to be sure the spawning is over so you don't mess up the spawning cycle?

2013 was a late ice off year and produced excellent hatches of walleyes in several lakes and rivers, including land locked lakes. Fish will hold their eggs until the time is right (up until a certain point of course).

Not sure how it affects crappies spawning success but they'll probably get a lot less fishing pressure since their spawning will occur after regular opener.

I am waiting for the day when all the resorts go back to just using track vehicles and the people that plow won't be able to keep up with the amount of traffic it gets nowdays. It could happen soon

I think there is too much money being made for that to ever happen.

It sure would help the fishery if they did. LOTW is a fraction of what it once was. Thousands of houses out on the south side each weekend for several years have taken their toll. Resorts encouraging people to keep the 12 inch walleyes and saugers if they want a meal certainly isn't helping. The lake still has areas where fishing is consistently good but those areas aren't anywhere near the areas accessible by wheel houses.

Twisted I agree on the charge per day issue. I am happy to pay a fee each day I use the private access and/or plowed ice road. This is the first year a resort told me I had to pay each day I was on the ice, regardless if I stayed in my house all day and did not use the plowed road. I had to pay $30 which was the charge for 3 days even though I drove out once and back in at the end of the weekend. Makes no sense to me.

The guy was pretty rude when I challenged him on it. He told me if a client is in need of help and doesn't have a road pass for the day you are on your own even if you offer to pay them for assistance. I won't be going back to that resort.

Anyone fish clear water west near atikokan?

My dad has and also fished White Otter. Good numbers and potential for good size in both lakes. If you are going on a trophy hunt I think there are better waters that I PM'd you info on.

Sweet set up.

Let us know how the bite goes and if you hear any word on vehicles for the upcoming weekend.

Thanks for the report.

How much ice? Have you heard if they will be allowing small vehicles out by the weekend?

So they hibernate or what? Winter is long in smallmouth country. How in the world could the spawn in the spring without eating all winter?

I'll just leave this here. Weibe is the man.

If you find them let us know. Smallies through the ice would be a blast. I know some guys target them on Chequamegon.
