It is anybody's guess when it will open. Hey I want it to open as I have been looking at buying a boat in Minnesota or ND but cant even have a look.

personally I do not see it opening until the number of Positive cases ID in the USA show a flattening of the curve.

Hey on the good side, there is NO market for pickerel therefore it looks like NO commercial fishing on Lake Winnipeg this year.

Glad you made it. You know the lake but yesterday we found more fish in the 17 ft range. Took several different locations before we found them.
ENJOY

Not good news, what I am being told is that when you show up at the Borderyou will be asked your plans to self isolate for 14 days and if none you will be turn back.
You can call Canada Customs and ask to speak with Immigration.

Yes, very confusing. Canadians and Permanent Residents are to self isolate for 14 days. This is rapidly changing. I have a few calls in to see how this is going to work for US tourists. I will post if and as soon as I hear.

It is an amazing fishery and glad you got on fish. I am glad my recommendations on the guides worked out, Brett, James and Donovan work their butts off.

There are guides and there are so called guides.

I spoke with my friend in charge of the Patricia Beach Park. The parking lot that is SOMETIMES cleared actually is Park but he could not remember any Park personnel checking that area in the winter.

He had to think about it a little bit as well as most people do not think of the turn around/parking area as Park but technically it is Park.

IF you are concerned at all park on the road as that is Provincial Highway and that is not a problem. Better yet look at Beconnia.

Not that I have ever heard and would say you do not need a permit for Patricia Beach. Tomorrow I will call my friend who is the person in charge of the parks and double check.

A suggestion would be to look at Beconnia which is just north of Patricia Beach. If you need better directions let me know.

With the snow getting so soft the ridge out of the parking lot could be very soft. Beconnia has a good parking lot and the access to the lake is much better.

The last couple of hundred yards at Pruden is breaking down quickly. I spoke with a councillor 2 days ago and asked if they would look at putting gravel on this stretch next year. NO promises but trying.

I would NOT recommend truck travel ONLY. The snow is hard but the wind has made for drifts. Quads with or without tracks or sleds would be my recommendations.
SORRY.
