My daughter and I were up last Saturday am. Went out of West wind. The lake is down about 3 feet from the normal water level. It was really windy and choppy when we were out. Zero fish and only saw one caught. Lots of boats out. My Hummingbird crapped out on me and forced us of the lake around noon. Sounds like it picked up Sunday. I'd go out either west wind or Rogers. They both dredged this winter to make access easier.

Never saw a fish attack a ducer but I know the northerns swim right under the ice and feed on dead fish pulled up from 30 ft. Your idea is plausible.

I hope they're found alive, but don't expect a miracle at this point. Way too cold right now.

From the looks of the photos, I think he means to say "10 minutes after shooting time started"...

I went out to Emily last night. Never been there before. The north west side had weeds out about 150 yardrs or more.

I tried minnows, raps, slip bonnets in the weeds... Nothing but for me... I'd try shad raps in the middle of the lake next.

Cooper

Here's the outdoor news report for the lakes we are looking at...

Walleyes are being caught by shore fishermen after dark with slip bobbers and minnows on the west side of Lake Emily. On Lake Minnewaska, crawlers continue to produce walleyes during the day in 22 to 24 feet of water or troll crankbaits after dark in 8 to 10 feet of water. Sunfish are being caught throughout Minnewaska in 8 to 12 feet, while bass and pike remain active here as well

Hope this helps.

I'm no help at all Cooper. I've never been on either lake. I know both are deep and clear based on the DNR lake finder web page. I also saw both have a ton of walleyes according to the surveys. I was going to look at the Friday fishing report on outdoor news also. :Reeling:

I was thinking of venturing out to one of these lakes this weekend to look for walleyes. Looking at the dnr report for Amelia showed incredible #'s from a 2013 survey.

Anyone on the forum fish these lakes and care to give some advice? I'd appreciate anything you can offer.

I was at the store in Waukesha last week. They were about 60% full of stuff. I think gander is consolidating product to a few stores. The Rogers store has been closed for a couple months.
