My son got in his stand in the a.m. and heard some noise behind him. When he turned and looked there was a buck scrapping on a tree. With 10min. to go before shooting he went to load his gun. The buck heard him, looked and him and took off. My son is 13 so this is a good learning expierence for him. Quiet is key. He will get it in due time.

Hunting in area 291 with my son. His first year alone in the stand. I really hope he gets his first deer!

I had a nice night on Waconia with my family tonight. We caught a nice meal of panfish. It was such a nice night to get the 3 kids out catching fish and just see them being themselves. Everyone had fun.
It was a nice way to start the Memorial weekend. Please don't forget those who paid the ultimate price to allow us to enjoy such freedoms.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm thinking about giving it a try again. We used to do real well by what I call grassy island. Lots of panfish and lots of fun.

I was just wondering if anyone has been out and had luck on Washington. I'm curious how the access is on either side of the lake is to get on. I used to have good luck on that lake but not recently.

If I may add my piece, I stayed at Arnesens last year with my dad, brother, my son and my brothers buddy. My son and dad and I had a 10x20 as did my brother and his buddy. We all had good fishing and was something I/we will never forget. We all came home with walleyes and even some jumbo perch which was really nice. They checked up on us each day and were very nice to deal with. Amenities were nice and can't wait to be able to do it again. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and look forward to getting there again.

Nice deer Trick. He's gonna taste great. My daughter missed on a nice 8 last night. Needless to say she was in tears. I saw him again this a.m. and couldn't take a shot as it was a little early. I'm hoping to see him again tonight and take a pop at him. Best of luck on filling your bonus tag.
