How much ice is on Mille Lacs right now? Will I need an extension for an Ion?

Going to Fishing for Ducks for the first time and looking forward to it. Should be great weather. Anyone fished this tourny before? I assume it's a blast. Are there a lot of fish caught?

Also, hows the ice. Havent been up in a couple of weeks. Plan on staying in a sleeper out on the flats.

I checked prior yesterday. I'd say about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice off of sand point.

Made it out this afternoon\evening. Ice was in great shape. Nice solid black ice. I'd say around 5-6 inches. Fishing on the other hand was slow. Only fished the south side, but drilled a lot of holes. From 12' to 24'. No fish and didnt mark much either. Finally marked some right before dark, but they were gone right away. Not a lot of people out, but everyone I talked to had the same results as me.

Was on lower Prior yesterday. Measured about 6 inches most places, how ever did find a spot with 2 inches straight our from Sand Point access. Use caution.

There is no parking anywhere near it. You will have to park at one of the accesses, or drive out from one of the accesses. Ice is always thin at the inlet into the bay.
