I tried the Crow River in Otsego the other day and the water seemed to be way up. I wasn't sure why, but definitely higher than other times I've seen it. Great catches!

If you haven't seen the announcement yet, check out their Facebook page or the website above. The new rod, the Fusion is a fantastic rod. I had the chance to field test this rod last winter. It perfectly complimented my Bullwhip and Percision. Has terrific feel and is perfect for the metro angler, like me.

When I first get on the water I want to figure out the mood of the fish as quickly as possible. I always start aggressive and slow down if necessary. My go to has been a cabelas mean eye square bill 70 in yellow and black with rattle. It an be fished in a lot more cover than I expected and it gets a lot of reaction strikes. When I slow down, I slow way down and throw a weightless wacky rigged senko up to docks. If I feel a lot of little strikes from bluegill, it is a great sign. Blue gill tell the story of the rest of the fish moods often, so active bluegill will often mean active bass. For top water, I love throwing s frog over thick vegetation. These three techniques have been by far the best producers for me this year. Good luck!

I have been finding the bluegills on the deep weed edge. They have been hitting on the bass lures. Crappies are most likely in the weeds.

I know the debate about the spread of invasive species is super contentious, but I have a serious question that I haven't seen discussed before. The only times I have ever encountered an invasive species has been when I pull them in on my fishing equipment. I was just organizing my tackle this evening and I found several jigs, crankbaits, and terminal tackle that had little remnants of weeds and such still attached. How possible is it for these to hold invasives an then spread them around?

It sounds like at 56 minutes she says that boats must be inspected and passed or decontaminated to get a "seal" to allow them to use lakes Sylvia, John, and pleasant. I'm thinking it only applies to these three lakes.

I'm confused, is this implying that before a person goes on any wright county lake, they are supposed to go to Annandale to get their boat washed?

I'm heading out to maple tomorrow to do some bass fishing. Can anyone report on the weeds? Are the shallows already choked out? Should I be looking to the deep weedline? Thanks,
Dan
