Great advice on going slow, so many people going way to fast. Some people should look up on what happens when they go fast!

i agree with child23, get there early. This is our fouth year and we (husband and myself) both won a prize the first year. If its cold, charcoal in a can next to your hole to keep it from freezing was the best advise someone gave us. (Never heard of it before)
Have fun!!! we were fishing in 55' of water, and last year the guy that won the truck was in 15'.
you just dont know.

We were out on Saturday and drilled aprox.15 to 20 holes and we never found anything over 12"-13" in the fishing contest area. Out of hole in the day bay. There was trucks and wheel houses out there and you sure could here the ice crack.
with this warm weather coming I would think that the contest will be moved or canceled.
The ice has so many different thickness.(if you are measuring thicker)
