Oh wow, I didn't even notice. I chuckled when I saw the 100 dollar tip-up.

I feel the market is overpriced for these new augers that can be attached to your cordless drill. The only reason I really want one is because they are lite and so I don't gas out my house if I want to drill a new hole quick.

If I were to DIY a strikemaster 8in hand auger what would be my quickest cheapest way to make it happen? Also, preventing it from falling down the hole is a huge must.

Ended up going to D Rock just north of minneapolis. Got myself a strikemaster extension for around 28 bucks. Will have to make mating hole from the extension to auger a little bigger to allow eskimo bolt to pass through.

Is it the clam 9561? I was looking at that one but it looks like its built for hand augers.

Needing an extension for hand augers doesn't sound like too much fun.

I do have it advanced mode. I always set my own bottom depth, never messed with the top depth. I'll try out your techniques next time I'm on the ice next to a Vex.

I do have it selected for the 1521 transducer.

Thanks for the input.

Anyone have a good reference on how to knock out the interference when fishing next to a vex.

I have the newish software upgrade and XI 9 1521 transducer. Tried messing with the 15 and 21 degree width, and cycling through the chirp interference but never found a clear screen that would hold.

Buddies fish with the FL 20 , FL 8 , and FL 8 SE

Looking to purchase an eskimo (12 or 18) auger extension. Anyone know if there's a reliable 3rd party manufacturer, or do I have to get the one made by eskimo.

I have the stingray bought it new back in 2014.

Didn't know this until now, but you can dry out your hub house by placing it in your wash tub. Worked great for me. Left the skirt a little wet, but not too bad.
