Dave,

Do you use a length of chain as well with a digger?

Be careful out there.

26,000-Pound Dump Truck Goes For A Swim
LAKE MINNETONKA, Minn. (WCCO) ―

The truck went through the ice by Big Island Regional Park as it was working near the shoreline.

Workers had a tough job Tuesday afternoon trying to pull a dump truck out of Lake Minnetonka.

The truck went through the ice by Big Island Regional Park as it was working near the shoreline.

The 26,000-pound dump truck was moving dirt and rock around the shoreline as part of an anti-erosion project when it went through the ice.

Orange fencing now surrounds the hole created by the truck. Officials think the ice weakened as the dump truck kept using the same route.

The driver was able to leap out of the truck before he went into the water. Workers attached cables to the truck and to some nearby trees so they could pull it out.

We just got back Saturday. The eyes are starting to get into the fall patterns and haunts. The water temps were 60 - 62 deg. We did really well on the North shore of Winne when the wind was out of the S - SW. The fish we found were in 9' - 12'. We did well with 1/8oz Chart Jigs W/golden shiners, Chart, Green, or Gold Spinners with a crawler, or 6' snells, red hook, green bead and crawler.

In Cutfoot, we worked the usual fall spots by the Gap and around Seeley Point. SNells and crawlers around the Gap, and Chart Jig and Minnow was the ticket by Seeley. The key we found was to stay on the 8-9 ft breaks. Walleye-O-Plenty, but tough to get keepers. We either caught Dinks, or 20+. (The Wife picked up a Chubby 26" which was fun to watch her bring in!)

We caught some nice Crappies and Perch in McAvity Bay by the sandbar. 17' - 19', jig and a minnow. Pick up a few stray Walleyes here too.

Great time, great weather!

Thanks for the information!

Pictures shouldn't be a problem Rick. (As long as I find the fish.) My Wife loves taking lots of pics.

Thanks again guys, we're taking the computer with us, so we should be able to get out some evening reports throughout the week.

Hi All,

The Wife and I are headed up to Cutfoot/Winnie for our Fall outing and some much needed R&R. We're going to be chasing the walleyes, or crappies and perch. And if my wife gets sick of fishing and stays in the cabin, I'm going to go chase the Ski's!

Has anybody been out recently? Any suggestions on colors and presentations or water temps?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bob (AKA - Da Beak)

Tried that. That's how I found out Gopher State wouldn't touch private lines. Then I went to their website and looked, and only found 2 private locaters in the SW Metro. And one of them was only certified to do Low Voltage locating. The other hasn't returned my call yet.
