Blue Ribbon Bait & Tackle Oakdale, MN had an amazing turn out considering the mid April blizzard of 2018. The Griz was there guarding the cookies and eating a few too. Had to remind a few not to feed the bears. Lol Josh really has loyal customers.

There is a reason Spring is crowded and Fish is not. Spring is your best bet for fish.

Just finished the 1st leg of the Holes for Heroes contest today. Next Holes for Heroes is on White Bear Lake next weekend. Biggest fish in contest was a 4# pike. A few eater size walleyes were caught. Small perch were the most frequently caught fish. Crappies were small and a few eater sunfish were caught. Overall it seems like a tough bite with almost no night activity from Fri and Sat evening. Best bet is bluegills and pumkinseed in the shallow weedline 10ft with waxies. Ask the local bait shop to see what he has to say.

Good luck.

Heres my two cents (from a Marine former competitive shooter). If you are gonna to use Sabots get one that shoots flat and hits hard out to 150 yds. Sight in at 125 (has to be less than 3" high at 75 yds) so its less than three low at 150. There is an ideal range to be dead on at but we are not shootin dogs at 300 yds. Also do not get your panties in a twist if you group at 3" to 4" at 125 yds. Thats damn good field accuracy for a shotgun at that range. You could do better with the right gun, barrel, ammo and the fool pulling the trigger, but whitetails have a decent kill zone. You probably will kill your deer within 100 yds or less, its nice to have confidence you have the ability to take one further. Hastings makes some damn fine rifled barrels if you want to get real serious. SEMPER FI and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Marines 235 years NOVEMBER 10, 1775 Tun Tavern.

Starting to look like me and the Putz are going to be bumpin around in the dark on the East side. Maybe we will get lucky and the wind forecast will be better on the west side.

Nice fish T Dizzle Thompson. Thought U might have given up by now with the tube. Was that the same lake we ice fished or the other newer one?
