Wondering what you guys are spooling your rattle reels with? Typically I have used the plastic coated line and then a flouro leader on the end of that but I am having trouble finding any of the plastic line that I used to use.

Thanks

Sorry for the late response back. Yes we applied way back in late February or March and we were drawn for tags. There is six of us going together and none of us had been out there deer hunting ever but two of the guys (not myself) were out there or in that area two springs ago for turkey hunting and said that they seen a lot of deer and the landscape was unreal. We are going for just as much the experience of being out west as we are to take a trophy deer. Don't get me wrong, we are obviously going to put in the work to do what we can for a few bucks but if it does not happen its not going to break any ones hearts.

Thank you for the responses and when we get back I will let you know how it went!!

Oh and by the way our tags are good for region Y

Going out to the big horn mountains just west of Buffalo Wyoming for a deer hunt toward the end of October. I (our entire group) has never been out there before and just curios what to expect. We have done a little research on google earth and what not and for sure will be doing more but just thought I would ask if any LSFers have been out that way before.

I am putting my helix 7 ice unit on the front of my boat now and I purchased the trolling motor transducer. Question I had is do I need to purchase a longer power chord or can I just add wire to what I have so it will reach the back of the boat. As of now there is no inline fuse. It is just a short two wires (maybe six inches) that ran to the small battery in the ice pack.

Thanks for your help

I have it registered and all updates were already current. I also changed it to 10 in the settings and still not getting a reading. I think its time to just try and call humminbird unless anyone else on here has any ideas.

Thanks

So today I had time to run down to cabelas and purchase the helix 7 ice model. Only problem I am having is that it was there display model because that was the only one that they had on hand. Once I got it home and took a look at everything in the box I realized that it was missing the instructions for the head unit. I have not had it on the ice yet but it seems like everything is working correctly except the GPS will not show my position. When I power it on it says that the GPS has no connection. Do any of you guys have any idea on what part of the menu I need to go to to make this work or what I could do for trouble shooting? Thanks in advance. By the way unless I did it incorrectly I did try it in simulator mode and normal mode and I also did install the lakemaster chip and in simulator mode it is reading it.

Does anyone use a helix 7 for ice fishing? I was looking at the marcum lx7 but would also like to have GPS on the unit.

So last night I went out to try fishing and I backed the boat off the trailer and put it into neutral and then forward gear but the boat motor decided it wanted to continue running in reverse. I noticed that even with the shifter in neutral position it still is running in reverse. Anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong. Thanks in advance.
