Try cleaning the orifice for the pilot light. Q-tip with some alcohol.

It might be too far away? You said it is brand new.. Position could be off. See if you can adjust it ..

I have had mine for 12 years... In my opinion its has something to do with your oil level indicator... Mine burns a lot of oil. I run it for the weekends i go up north and I would guess that mine has over 2500 hours on it and the oil sensor is very finicky .... I can smell oil burning and as long as I keep it full she is ok. if the oil level goes low it runs like crap. I probably need to re-ring it but if I just keep the oil level above the lines and no issues... other than the smell of oil burning. Mine runs non stop for 80 + hours a weekend and the oil seems to be the difference of running fine or like crap. Try that....

A lot of these 2 strokes tend to get clogged up in the muffler. Take off the spark arrestor and clean it. Sounds like that is the problem. I have had this happen before. The oil will clog up the screen and it will idle nice but cant breath at WOT

I have been running a Honda 2000 on my trailer for 11 years with no issues. It wont run the AC but I never use it. Nice back up for the house. Will run the furnace and outlets.

This happened to both myself and a buddy. Ours were cable control units and there was a bad board. If I recall correctly it was a diode that burned out. The fix was to have the board replaced.

Is this something you fixed or had fixed? What did it cost?
Thanks

I was at my place up by Blackduck earlier this summer and the coyotes were howling nightly. Later on this summer it was wolves we were hearing...and absence of deer...

I sold my boat to a guy a few weeks ago and he called me today saying that the trolling motor would only run at full speed no matter what he set the control at. Without seeing what is going on I thought that I would ask around to see if this has happened to anyone before?? My guess is that there is a set screw on the speed control let go??
