I use these when fishing smaller plastics. http://customjigs.com/products/draggin-jig.html
The one in the above post is similar to what I use fishing large swimbaits.

Ceeber how big of boat do you have? If you are in a bigger boat I wouldn't try getting much above ramesy. Smaller boats work upriver but there is alot of wood and stretches with alot of rock.

You can try 5 different gauges and all will read different. Your biggest concern is that they are close to each other. I have saw as much as 20lbs difference between two gauges.

I have fished upriver from floodwood a few times. Plenty of action but quality is low. Overall it is a decent trip if size is not your concern.

Side imaging is worth every penny only if you take the time to learn how to use it properly and understand what you are looking at.

I run a 8" bee stinger hunter extreme on my current bow. It has helped and is still short enough in the ground blind. I ordered a new bow last weekend and will be running a 12" along with a back bar but it will be my indoor rig for leagues.

They are forecasting 8+" up that way from tonight through Tuesday. Every time I check they keep changing the amount so I guess we will have to wait and see.

Not sure if tractor supply still has them on sale but they were under a $100 last week.
