It time for bigger fish! The June 15th slot limit change is only hours away; its like opener all over again. With this change it opens the door for creek chubs presentations, crankbait presentations and a ton of water that normally only holds bigger fish is now prime for the pickin'.

Not sure what to expect this year. The last two years it has been crazy with boats launching all day long. The first year it was on a monday and for a week the fish were snapping and the weather picture perfect. My brother is coming in from chicago and he is pumped. With the shape of the economy I expect it just a tad slower but not much

We will know by Friday afternoon when the boats actually slow down for Waskish or blow right by for Lake of the Woods. Now yesterday I kept track and four of my first five fish where 18-19 1/2" so right there was my limit in a matter of minutes. The fish are present and biting, will the anglers be present also?

No the river bite dies as soon as the boat traffic hits it.

The slot limit on red currently is a 20-26 inch protected slot.

Either the all day rain or the econemy kept the masses away yesterday. Today the weather sounds like it will be perfect. so we will see what happens but yesterday was nothing like the last two years when the sjot changed.I counted 12 vechicles at the boat ramps yesterday

I know the river slows down, you can still catch great northerns up by the fisheries building though, I know we did when we were kids.

"Theres no fish in this river" Its just a saying I have always said and was meant to give yall a hard time.
