With the recent rains finally over the decision was made to try and find some eyes with the water on the rise. Not having been on Pool 4 since early July I was hoping that the clarity and water temp wouldn't combine for a tough bite.

First couple hours the eyes were very willing to cooperate. They weren't overly aggressive and needed to be finessed a little bit but they were definitely willing to eat. Mostly interested in bait but also got a few casting cranks.

Never caught an eye under 25". Boated 12 eyes over 25" with 3 over 28" for the day.

Great work Booner! Those are some excellent fish and one heck of an average. I had a nice little spot I'd been shore fishing on the sippi up in the Monticello area and it is most certainly flooded out at this point as are most of the rivers up this way. It will be some time until I can get back to the areas I had been targeting.
