Time for new trailer tires - i have a single axle shorelander with a 17" crestliner on it. Anyone have reasons to go with or stay away from one brand or another? Or are they all about the same - other than bias or radials. There will be radials going on, though...
When I bought m y 18.50 Chrestliner it came with Carlile tires. Both blew within 2 years and had the proper air pressure. Never will buy them again. good luck.
I cant find marathons - even asked - seems they dont make them in the size anymore - thats what im taking off. After much reading and reviews, seems all of the makers have their detractors. With that said, im having a pair of Carlisle Radial Trails mounted in load range D, which is a step up from the Marathons that were a C. Also higher speed rating.
Keep the air up and the speed down and they should be fine... (i keep telling myself that)
I currently have carlisle's radials that look like marathon's on my 1875 Pro V. It's been to Canada three times and lots of other towing miles and they are wearing perfectly. I also put Carlisle's radials on my sled trailer two years ago and they have been great. Getting the correct load rating is KEY!
