I have a humminbird 859ci on my fishing boat and a helix 7 si/di on my pontoon. I want to mount one of the units on the dash of my utv. Do i need the transducer to make the gps/lakemaster maps work? I tried the 859 without the transducer and my maps were not working

I have a helix 7 on my Polaris ranger with no transducer. When you turn the unit on you have to take it out of simulation mode

Also if planning on the running power from cigarette lighter outlet most of them lose power when machine shuts off. So prolly want to run direct.
