It's been a LONG time since I've seen 20+ boats out fishing after dark on an area lake. Last night was that night. Heck, there was even an ice castle at the access with guys camping out. Buddy and I trolled 10-12 feet with shad raps with no takers. We began to troll in and out of the group and pitch jigs and moxies with no takers. We then headed to the opposite side of the lake and went with flat raps in 5-6 feet long lining at 2.2 MPH and managed a couple back to back 15.5" and 23.5". It's a chore keeping an eye on the docks as your back trolling in the dark. After seeing a single fish caught out of the main group over 2 hours I felt pretty pleased with our decision to go it alone. It was a beautiful night out there to say the least. Heat up the grease!
