First and foremost I'd like to thank Tim Baker for taking me out this evening!!!!!!!

We hit the ice around 3 this afternoon. Got all set up and by 4 the first flag of the hard water season was flying through the air!!!!!!! And let me tell you it was a very welcome sight. On the other end of the line was a beautiful eater eye As it got closer to 5 the bite started to heat up. And they started to show up on the Marcumís tight to the bottom. My flag would fly two more times before the trip was done. Action is the house was also good. I picked up two in the house and Tim ended up with with four. In all we caught 9 eyes, 8 of which were keepers. 15 to 17 inch range!!!!!!!

The best action came on plain glow hooks (white & orange) on set lines. Also we had a few on jigs. Not sure exactly what Tim had it was a smaller jig. I got a couple on a white glow buck shot with a single white glow hook. All fish came in 10 fow.

The ice looked very solid. I would say around 7 inches. We walked out but did see guys on sleds.

The best catch of the night is an easy call. I had a fish on the graph and quickly got him to hit the buckshot. Well I was using my new rod and reel from JRs, and my drag was not set. This was the first fish for the set up. The fish toke a little run then came in. As it\'s coming out of the hole and Tim leans over to grab him. He kicks his rod down the hole or so we thought. As he say sh*#!!!!!! I look at the fish with my buck shot and Tim\'s jig both in his lips. So I say what a second here Tim. We follow the line off the jig and down my hole. So we pull up and here comes Timís pole out of my hole. You had to be their it was pretty damn funny

Pics to follow from Tim tomorrow!!!!!!

Again, Thanks to Tim for a great night on the ice.

It was great to meet you, and I'm glad you had a good time, and got a taste of the northland. We need to do it again!
I was suprised that no perch or pike were around but hey all walleyes is a good thing too.

The pole dive was a pricless moment to say the least! Many things go down the hole although few seldom return.

The small jig that I was using on my noodle rod was an ant from JamminJigs.com, I was expecting perch although I ended up with the walleye that spit the hook right at the hole under so much tensoin that the jig shot out right past my eye! It also landed the only small eye we threw back which was a fun battle.

1 thing better than pics, fresh fish frying in pan, mmmm.

Mikey went out and didnt invite anyone? I gotta agree, Dirty Bugger!
I will be out on Friday, I hear there is walkable ice on Fish although the bite was slow the last couple days.

If you go back up this week? Go out about 25- 50 yds further than you were on Friday to get more centered in the channel. Get set up by 3 and plan to stay until dark. 6 inches off the bottom white glow hooks with a chub and slip bobber or tip ups.

No need to be jealous, lights are on and the door is unlocked; come on up and lets fish!
I have everything we need for a day out all you need to bring is your tackle and poles, I have the house(s) heaters, auger and the Icewell to keep them eyes fresh and not frozen. I will provide transportation from Gander in Duluth out to/on the lake. All I ask is you cover the cost of the minnows and launch or parking (About $6.00 total)
I fish Friday and Saturdays. Sundays by request of an out of town guest can be arrainged as I normally work Sunday-Thursday.

Stop wishin it's time for fishin...
