On this beautiful morning, Skinny, myself, and two of Skinny's buddies headed out for some shore fishing on Superior. We dropped lines around sunrise using looper bugs w/waxies and night crawlers. Skinny started the day off (as usual), by catching a beautiful native Steelhead and landed another about an hour later. Then, a school of coho kept us busy for a while. We ended up finding some loopers not long after and maintained a steady bite till about 9:00. We had a nice mess of fish when I left around 11:00.

I might as well add (before Skinny does) that he had the big fish of the day. Nice work Skinny. It was a fun morning and we'll have to do it again soon. I wish your buddies would have been able to have more action after coming all the way from the cities. Although, I just got word that Skinny's buddies started to contribute to the day's catch at about 5:30. Heres a few pics from today. Skinny also has more to report and pics to follow.

Nice job stretching the line on the long rods! It sounds like it was a fun morning! Once again, I wish I would have been there!

Good time had by all today. Fishing was good early and pretty much dead once the wind switched out of the NE. But great weather and conversation saved the day. Scott ended up with one nice Looper, and lost the biggie of the day. As for John, his day will have to be Tomorrow. I hope the weather is as nice.

Scott with his afternoon fish. Parp and myself with a morning catch, minus a few nice Native releases.

We hit the shore just before sunrise again today hoping for another decent bite. We landed 2 fish, a Coho and a Looper. We did our best to get John his first Looper. But the big lady would have nothing to do with surrendering one of her Loopers to a first timer.

Superior once again lived up to her name. As she has done so many times before, she decided when we would be done for the morning. The early morning NW breeze, did a 180 and blew from the SE. This placed the nights skim at our feet, and sent many eager anglers home empty handed. We also decided to relieve our sunburnt faces, and call it a weekend.

We'll get you one next time John!

That was a nice looper Scott got today though! It always stinks when the ice comes back in on ya! Well maybe that means the Big Lady is trying to save a few fish for when I can finally make it over there!

I know she'll save you a few. Hurry up and heal so you can get over here and catch a few. If you are still to sore, I could always set the hook and real them in part way for ya.
