The snakeriver dam

I have never really fished the snake river dam alot in pine city I was wondering if anyone had any tips for what time of year to go and what to use for those channel cats? I have heard that their are some pretty nice ones their though.

I have also heard of people catching channels there, below the dam, using cut sucker for bait.

I heard that there was some nice ones above the dam but I didnt know what to use.

My stepdad has the head of a 16lb cat on the wall from the snake river dam. He used to fish it all the time.
