So my brother in law wanted me to build him an ice fishing rod with an Irish theme. He really didn't say much more than that besides just to get creative. So here is what i came up with. He wanted a split grip walleye rod. It is a fiberglass blank so it has a slower action for jigging spoons. The guides are Fuji and it is a Pac-Bay reel seat. I am also going to be adding some shamrock decals to the chrome part of the reel seat, but they wont be here for a couple more days. Here are a couple pics of the Irish rod:

Very nice! I like the reel seat! You have my hot pink and teal order yet
Personalized of course! I'm thinking that is what it will take to win in SD!
Nice work!

Nice work Bobb-o,

I assume you get your blanks from Thorne Bros.

Any advice for a good blank from them for a UL to L panfish rod?

I used to go through a couple of on-line companies but I would just as soon give my money to TB - always happy with their service and advice (they told me they will ship to me as I live in Victoria).

This blank was actually not from Thorne Bros, but many of the ones i build i do get from them. an UL to L panfish rod i would probably recommend a Power Noodle blank. they just got a shipment of them in and you can trim the noodle section to almost whatever action you would like.

The finishing touch showed up yesterday and i applied them today. They are small waterslide shamrock decals. I put two on each of the reel seat chromes:
