Has anyone got any action on Pokegama for perch, or crappie, or anything? drove by today and saw some portables out there, hopefully get to go out there this week.

I was out there on Friday the 18th about 10 inches of good ice, but could not find the crappies. between 3 of us we did have some flag action caught 3 northerns, but that was about it.

Anybody know how easy it is to walk out on the lake with the amount of snow? Are there enough snowmobile tracks around to walk on? I'd like to go up there tomorrow morning and I'll be walking and pulling.

thanks

I think it's a long ways to just walk out to hit the good fishing spots. Well at least where I normally would target. I've never tried close to either north or south lake access. If you walk I would guess the south access would be better.

My spot is about 1/4 mile from maple knoll rd. Under normal conditions it's about a 10 minute walk. I just don't want to drive for an hour just to be totally worn out by the time i get to my spot.

1/4 mile is not too bad on foot. This snow would make it tough without some snowmobile trails. I have some mountain/slope crampons that makes it easier on foot, plus two Jet Sled XL to spread the weight.

I wouldn't mind being worn out and catching fish.

Anyone know what time the snake river bait store in pine city opens? I just tried calling them, hoping they had a message, and I got a fax machine.

Where's the snake river bait store?

I usually stop by the fish lake store on the way up. They open like way early. I was there at one time like 4 am in the morning and shop was open.

Fish Lake Bait is on 35 at the Harris exit. East side of 35. They have selfserve bait if they are not open. Nice bait shop with alot of stuff.
