Headed up with my buddy David for an afternoon of fishing in the Bemidji area. Met up with Matt(Northcountry) to chase some perch as well as some gills and crappies. Crappie Spense and his dad were there as well so I got the oppurtunity to meet them as well.
Started out hitting a couple areas for perch, and started to get into some 8-11" perch. Put about a half dozen on the ice before hitting the road to try our luck on the pannies.
Hit our next lake and hopped around until Matt popped a nice gill and crappie. The sun was hitting the tree tops when we all setup and worked the fish. They were definitely on the finicky side but I think everyone managed to catch a crappie or two.
Thanks for the fun day Matt! Was good hitting the ice with you again.
Here's a picture of one of the crappies that were caught.

It was "Bemidji area lake".
It was good fishing with you again Loren! I'm glad we were able to paste a few of those slabs. Sure would've been a great night if we hadn't missed or lost the ones we did!
After Loren headed back to DL we went out in search of eelpout. With the extreme cold weather we didn't make it far, and ended up hoping for some burbot in one of the open houses. All we managed were marks from walleyes...

We were all pretty bummed when the head came through the hole and it didn't have a barbel hanging from it's chin... ;)
