There are some small panfish in there, as well as some decent bass in the summer time. I have not seen anybody driving out there this winter (not that that means anything).

I have heard of Mccarons referred to as the "dead sea." Maybe due to a few bad trips on the lake, I'm not sure. I've never fished it, but from what I've seen of the lake, I'd fish elsewhere. Some lakes you could try close by are phalen, como, Gervais, Battle Creek, etc.

haha i disagree here.
Ive wasted enough time on Phalen to know that it is pretty much worthless.

Phalen is a good place for a white trash looser, I have taken many people out there that fit that description to a tee! Good pike lake with some nice panfish if you look around. try the south end, that no one ever fishes.

there are some decent walleyes in the lake, but they can be tough to find unless you are out there in the middle of the night, then you had better keep a close eye on your vehicle
