Dootleye and I hit the water around 1:30 and fished for a few hours. Smallies were actively protecting beds and were pretty easy targets on the calm side of the lake. Mid-lake rocks held fish, but the wind was brutal, so getting them to go was near impossible as we drifted over at 2mph... Saw some very nice fish mid-lake, but had our best action on shorelines. Gamakatsu Drop Shot hooks with a Yum Dinger was the method of attack. We picked off roughly 30 fish, biggest going 18.25".

On the way home we checked a spot for some mushrooms and were pleasantly surprised to come up on a tree that was absolutely loaded with oysters. Needless to say, we ate well when we got home... ;)

Nice job on the smallies Matt. Gotta get me one of those mushroom books. All I know are morrels, everything else scares me.

Matt
Those smallies are a blast sight fishing on their nest arent they.

BN took me out a few years back and got me hooked on them.
