Made it out on to bemidji for a couple hours this afternoon. With this nasty weather the bite was tough. Managed 5 eyes with the biggest only being 14". Marked many more fish with the nicer marks not seeming too interested. Ice where I was at measured out at 9" and with hearing that people were out driving yesterday that makes me nervous! Give it a little .more time people before vehicles. The ice varies a fair amount across the lake. Fun day on the ice though!

Ill will be up in Lake bemidji friday the 21st. Is there any slot limit there? It will be my first time up there for ice fishing. Im excited and cant wait. I have done some camping trip up there a couple time But never fish there. Is there other better lakes around bemidji that I Should try? Thanks.

Not so much, they were pretty sluggish with the weather saturday. Small jigs, jigged slow and steady. I was mostly using a green flyer, smallest size. Just lift it up and let it float off to the sides.

Here's my report on lake bemidji. Went out on sunday before coming back home. There was people driving out on the south side of the lake. we measure the ice and got 12 inches. We started at 10am. Went to a 35 feet drop off. Saw fish. Only got two perch and a small eye. Release the eye and kept the two jumbo perch. Around 4pm moved to around 22 fow. Saw lots of fish but they didn't take it. 6pm rolled around and I caught a 15 inch walleye on the deadstick. My buddy caught some good size perch with just deadsticking with a glow jig and minnow. Seem like the fish bite more on a deadstick than jigging. I was at Red lake on friday and saturday. Did pretty good there for our first time there. First day at Red we only caught 3 eyes. And second day we got 8 eyes. There was 4 of us. So not bad for the first time ice fishing there.
