Is it ok to ride an ATV out using the access by the fairgrounds? If so are there any thin ice areas one should be cautious of? I know they snowmobile it, but I have yet to see an ATV. Thinking of ice fishing it and wonder if it is worth it, and what kind of lures to use. Thanks.

I know this is a little late, but id think the ice would be good enough up to the ramsey area. anywhere that is open is usually pretty shallow. once you take the sharp 90deg right turn after the bunker park its only about 3 feet deep during normal water levels. winter time is usually lower then that. if you did go through youd be "safe."
