3722 people. Only 72 fish registerd! Notice starting at 11th place how the weights go down real fast and are the size of perch are minnows....

I know this is a small cordoned off area but if its a sample of what state the lake is in...I'd say its in Dire Straits and the netting of walleyes during the spawn while the rest of the state is closed so walleyes can spawn is finally showed it ugly head!

The contest was in the middle of the day dude...
What do you expect?
And as you said, a bunk location.

No doubt the netting needs to stop, and bare bones its a racial issue not to mention bad for this lake.

Despite the location and time of day I have to agree with Shaft here- I took my 4th trip up to the north end this past weekend- during those 4 weekends we've caught ~30 walleye and only 2 were keepers. This one almost made the cut-

I have never seen so many trucks parked on the ice next to each other.

Question....hows does this years results compare to years past?

That might answer some of the questions..

Was the contest in the same place/same time previous years? What were the results from those contests?

I can't find the years past results but as announced at the contest this is the 1st time in 9 years of the contest the top 100 spot were not filled. I've done this contest for the past 6 and granted its in a "bunk" area but there is normally a couple/few hundred fish registered. By looking at this years weights registered for comparison I weighed a .32lbs perch 2 years ago for 86th place....

When you apply for a permit to have a fishing contest you need to supply certain information at the end of the contest such as number of contestants, number of fish caught, species of fish, etc.

No doubt that most people would think that their should be more fish caught and entered with just over 3700 people. To make any valid points, you need to have information from other years as people asked. Plus the weather as well. Here in our house the bite can vary from not a dam thing to half a dozen walleyes overnight. The flats fair better.
What does anyone know about the perch and pout event at Hunters Point? They fish the full lake? What was their results from Saturday?
Yes this lake is getting screwed up with all the Trophy regulations and mismanagement by all sides, and if they enact a 56" minimum on Muskies, it is not going to get better anytime soon. The northerns seem to be full bellied as well, so their eating good.
