i used to fish it when i lived in Rice for smallies, can be pretty good, never fished south of where the swan river dumps in; for walters i've heard the dam area can be good

Don't see boats in there very often. There is a rock flat near the waste water facility and RR trestle as you're headed upstream right just past the golf course that can be difficult to navigate, but I'd guess if the water is high enough you'd be able to get back there. Someone told me once it's really deep, like 20ft or so just behind the island, but I have no idea. I have however fished the island downstream from the Lindbergh (old Smuda zoo) access and there is some pretty sweet structure that way. Also where the Swan dumps into the river there is a sand flat with almost a straight drop. I've caught lots of northerns there. Never walleyes though.

Got up there but man that current was ripping under the rail bridge. N I did see that rock flat you mentioned by the water facility unfortunately no fish lots of leaves in river messing up are lines. Hopefully next time is better oh and I did find that steep sand break by the swan river thanks
