cedar has a city of houses on it. 14 and a half inch of ice. caught a lot of crappie. 8-10.5 inch. took limit of 9.5-10.5 home. bite was light. finicky. waxes better than minnows (very odd). stopped by eagle earlier and they were all 8 or less than inches. measure 13.5 inch of ice. maybe run and gun a few spots on Tonka tomorrow.

Which eagle did you stop by so I don't go there? I've gotten a limit on cedar twice this year of 10-11 inchers. Same thing with the bite. They held close to the bottom. I had my best luck with a tiny sunfish jig and crappie minnow head.

Neither had I til I tried it this winter. Had tried quite a few different presentations and had a ton of sniffers but no takers. Then tried this and started catching them like crazy. Worked my second time out too so I didn't change it. The jig was so small I had to select the smallest crappie minnows too or the hook wouldn't get through their heads. Crappies are a fun bite when they are on .
