Looking at getting a hole new arsenal of reels for the hard water season! I have always been a shimano sienna person and still like em but looking at all options! What do you use?

I'm starting to look into the Pflueger Trion Spinning Reel and a few others, so let me know what you think please.

I spend most if not all fishing outside hole hopping and so they need to hold up to the temps and yes when I miss or loose a good fish sometimes they get a toss or drop so please take that into a fact!

I would like to stick around the $40 per price and I will use them for panfish, eyes, and perch!

Any advise is welcome!

Thanks in advance

Only advice I would have on reels in general for ice fishing is to not go too expensive. I have seen and heard of too many reels popping off rods and ending up in the hole. Good luck!

Tica Cetus.
Good reels, decent price. Tough will handle pissed off men throwing them on the ice also.

X2 here I am a Shimano guy all summer but come hard water and the Tica Cetus is all that I use. I have them from $29 to $89 and they are all great the higher end ones are a little smoother that is all I can tell. I have some that I still fish with that are well over 10 years old and have all the trust in the world in them!!

The one on your summer crappie rod, save the extra money for beer.

In that case, I've had great luck with the cheap Pflugers. Still, save big money for beer!

I love my trions! Just picked up a few Pflueger Purists this summer, they are pretty sweet and cant beat the price for a quality reel!
