Anyone have any reports on ice conditions or fish action on local lakes? Planning on visiting Chub Lake on Friday. Will be trying Bear Lake in Barnum today. It's easiest to hit up after work. I'll share how it goes later tonight. Good luck to all and safe fishing!

Well it felt good to break the ice. Graphed plenty, had followers, but wouldn't commit. A couple of portables were southwest of the island. They said they got some sunnies, a lost crappie, a bullhead, & a northern. Action was slow but I'll get back after it on Wednesday or Friday.

Thanks for the report. Never fished Bear Lake. Always see shacks and some portables out there as I drive by on 35W going north. good luck.

How much ice did you have out there? I was driving past there yesterday at about 4:30 and saw a few portables out there.

I fished West Twin lake a few days ago. Kinda the same story, I saw a ton of them on my vex but it was tough to get them to commit. I pulled a few decent crappie out of there. Ice was great 8-9 inches, I'm sure its thicker now. After we escape this cold front, I plan to go back and see if they are hungry now.

Chub lake had a good 4 inches on last Tuesday, and people were already driving four-wheelers on it.

How do you typically do out on Chub? Not looking for your spots just fishing reports.I have been wondering about it since I am up in that area often and want to give it a shot.
