Finally going to get out Saturday. In Moose Lake Area. Haven't decided where just yet but dying to try out my new Eskimo Wide One Inferno (early Xmas present).

Have seen one or two guys out on almost every lake between Stugeon and Bear. I'll post on Sunday how things went.

I'd like to venture out to Pomegama Bay and Fish Lake this winter. Have mostly just hopped around southern Carlton County these past couple years.

If anybody familiar with those locations is heading out, and wouldn't mind, I'd love to tag along. Hard hitting a new lake for the first time solo.

I was out a couple times last week on Big Lake. Northern fishing was steady and provided plenty of action for my family.
Nothing too big, which was perfect for the young ones. 2 pounders were common.

My brother did well with pike on Grand Lake also. Nothing big. Some for fillets and some handles for pickled pike. Last year big perch were caught there also but this year not that many. good luck.

Made it out to a small lake just north of 33 today. Found fish stacked in @18' but the bite was slow.caught couple nice crappies, couple very nice perch and a walleye. Was out off to one side of main hole in @14' missed as many as we caught. 24" good ice, but all were on foot or ATV/sleds. Ice cracked all day long, them ones ya hear coming through and go right under your chair. Ya can just feel the spring bite coming,,,soon. Good luck
