MasterGopher, do you still keep in touch with Navin? What are you up to these days? Yeah I really never understood guys that hunt or fish, or that supposably live for it or are dieahrds go to UMD, Mankato, U of M or St. Cloud State. The amount of fishable water and public land just doesn't compare to those other areas. Their loss! Bemidji State was the best decision I ever made in my life thus far, I made a lifetime of friends there and made lifetime of memories.

Wow that is one hell of a day man! I am transferring from Vermilion to Bemidji next year, hope to have even half of the luck you are having out on Bemidji. What would you do for a day trip up there? Would you just stay in Bemidji or make a trip up to red or over to Leech? Not familiar with that area too well so just trying to gain a little knowledge before the ice fishing season next year!

Plug,
Depends on what you want to fish for really? My buddies would do day trips to Lake of the Woods for walleye and sauger, Red's not far, nor is Leech or Winnie, and many people drive right by Cass. You have your choices! Then in the spring you got Rainy River fishing, and you can get out there first or more often than say someone from St. Cloud or the metro area. So it's whatever you want to fish for species wise and how far you feel comfortable driving.
