Wow, temps are warming up i see. Trip planned to head up next Tuesday and coming a long way. Fishing on our own. Any of you locals have thougths on what the access with a truck will be on the lake by past experiences? Don't have a wheeler so should i be getting nervous about coming up?

I don't think you need to worry. Over night Temp's look like they'll drop into the 20's and stop the melt plus there's a lot of ice and not much snow to have a huge amount of run off...Stopping the melt/run off at night is huge.

With the warm weather the heaves and cracks have been moving like crazy....some of the bridges have been pulled...I would call both two days before and the day before u come up...there has been a rumor of some roads shutting down to vehicle travel within the next 10 days

What TW says is spot on! Call up to the lake the day before, and the day you make the trip up. It's going to change pretty fast this week.

Don't know what the long term forecast is calling for, but if it stays like it is we won't have to worry about ice on the lakes for the fishing opener this year!

Weekend looking WARM! Probably looking pretty bleak for driving a truck out next week im guessing. Keep me posted if anyone is up there fishing.

Also, is the S shoreline everywhere that beat up that pike fishing shallow water will be difficult to do?

Thanks

Red River Valley weatherman said tonight that the big warm up is supposed to stay primarily south and west of the lake.

Likely to get into the 40's, but not into the 60's or 70's, so it may not be quite as bad this weekend, or next week, as it originally sounded?
