Were the Vikings and Panthers fined for warming the balls on the sideline, a clear violation of the rules, at last years game? Were the Colts fined for their balls being under inflated? No to both. Other teams were found to have had under inflated balls and were fined $20,000.00. Rumor has it the Chiefs put their balls in ovens to warm them. There are plenty of other examples of other teams actually being caught cheating (not like the Wells report where it was just a bunch of WAG's and more than likely statements) but nothing or very little happens to those teams. Why are the Ref's not getting fined, suspended or fired for not keeping control of the balls? They handled the balls every play and should have known there was a problem.
The Patriots went on to destroy the Colt's 28-0 (45-7) after the balls were fully inflated. They picked apart the leagues best defense in the Super Bowl and won that game with fully inflated balls. Sure the haters will say they got lucky but the Seahawks got lucky with the catch so it's a wash.

This is just Goodell's over reaction to not getting his way and his trying to act tough after the whole Rice and Peterson debacle. As F6firecat said, the NFL is a joke.

Big difference between giving cash to try and hurt someone vs deflating footballs so the punishment should not be the same.

But yes this could have been going on since 2006 when the rule was put into place and that was just for road teams; home teams could always prep the balls. The Colts told the NFL before the game to keep an eye on the balls and they lost track of them for right before the game.

He fesses up and his penalty is way shorter and less harsh. The cover up cost him a lot. He won't get fined, but 4 games for Tom Brady is just under 2 million.

Brady will appeal and get 2 games tops. This whole thing is being blown out of proportion, and imo it is due to it also coming out that the NFL teams were being paid to have Military Appreciation Days. If you want to over react to something, that seems a LOT more deserving of this attention. $5.4 Million from Tax Payers to NFL teams.

I agree with you on it getting dropped to 2 games, but the only reason it is getting blown out of proportion is directly related to the Patriots and Brady thumbing their noses at the NFL and not supplying requested information or access, going against their Employee bylaws. The NFL could not prove tampering, but by them not cooperating, they wrote their own tickets.

The NFL should be disgraced about taking money from the Military, complete disgrace!!!!!!

Yes the military appreciation thing is a bit ridiculous and appears quite selfish by the NFL, but it's really just a form of advertising while doing a quick recognition of the soldiers and their branches of service. Why hasn't anyone gotten upset about all the military Nascar sponsoring? Personally, I think they're both ridiculous and unnecessary and do nothing for recruiting.

NFL upholds Brady's 4 game suspension. The Patriots have a bye in that sequence so it would be game 6 that Brady would play. good luck.

Brady will start on opener. Judge rules in his favor. No word yet on the fine and draft pick loss. good luck.
