Would like to explore some more lake options this year. Anyone familiar with this lake or have any advice for a first timer. Thanks in advance.

I've fished this lake a few times in the open water. I usually go with my dad and he likes to troll for walleye and pike. Usually we pick up some small sized walleyes and keep a few pike to bring home.

The shoreline across the lake from the boat launch has a quick break.

The weeds can grow pretty thick in some areas.

I have fished it once in the middle of the summer. It seems like a good panfish lake. I tried for northerns and walleyes lindy rigging but nothing. If you plan on ice fishing it it was half open last weekend i drove past it. I have a cabin in the area close to it. This warm weather sucks

Yeah - the plan was to take one trip up in January to ice fish for some pannies with the kids. Looking for action, not worried about size (not keeping any). Thanks for the info!

Good lake for what you are looking for.

There are good numbers of gills, perch and crappies in the lake.

It is also a decent bass lake, and its also stocked with walleye and musky's each year.

Has anyone been out to Island lake? Thinking about heading up next weekend. Any advice on fishing or conditions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

check the DNR Lake Finder for the depth map. Do not know what your transportation is, but on the far end in the deep hole, crappies can be had. On your way to this location, you will notice alot of perms they are chasing eyes. Most likely there will be a road plowed out.
